Expenses Scan the receipt and auto populate values

Receipts data entry process seems quite manual at the moment. We were wondering whether there are any developments underway to automate this area. In other systems we use, once parameters are set for a specific contact, the system is able to automatically extract and populate data from uploaded documents. It would be great to understand if similar improvements are planned here.
