Edit a Project Template

There currently isn't a simple way to edit existing templates, you have to create a project using each of the current templates, edit the live project, save the new template, delete the old template, rename the new template to be the same as the old one and then close down the project I created to edit the template. It's such a long winded process, if there could be a simpler edit template interface that would be a huge help.
